Tip of the Day: Have you ever wanted to the find the perfect lip gloss for you and your BFF?! So many ladies splurge on gloss that just isn’t their color. Sure everyone has her own style. But did you know that certain shades will make your entire face glow? Here’s the BFF secret guide to finding the best shade for you two!

Enjoy the Lip Lust guide!

Lip Lust Guide ;)
To find the perfect gloss for you and your BFFs, you've got to think about two things: skin shades and colorings. To perfectly apply your BFF shade, put it on light and layer. You can always add more, but less is usually more to highlight your gorgeous self.

Skin Shades:
Fair: Browns and yellows are not in the cards for you. They'll wash you out. Kiss your lips to pale pinks, nudes or berry reds. To go nude, try a taupe with a touch of rose coloring.

Medium: Pinks are your BFF, especially if you have a brown undertone. Just watch out for shades that are too pale.

Dark: Brave and bold should be your moto! You will look fabulous wearing mauves, reds, and berries. Give browns and purples a go too to accentuate the richness of your skin.

Skin Coloring:
Pink Tint: You want to balance your face with a cooler shade
that has blue undertones. Try pinkish coral for a change.

Olive & Yellow Tint: Pale pink won't really do much for your skin. You want to use color to warm up your face. Look for a darker pink to really make you shine. Neutrals like apricot, beige and nude will also look fabulous. Corals will love you back too!

Evenly Tan!

Good Morning! If you did not have a chance, check out the updated blogs, videos, and news on www.bffbeautyshop.com. Today it may rain, but this weekend is going to be HOT! It's supposed to hit 93 plus! I figured that you might benefit from some tanning tips before the sun comes out this weekend.

Tip of the Day: Do you ever wonder how some girls get really even tans?! I couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Finally one day, I was told that it is really important to exfoliate and moisturize before you spray on some color. You need to put excess moisture on the dry parts of your body, like your elbows and knees. It makes sense, you need even smooth skin to get the same color all around. I use the Clean and Clear Exfoliant from Walgreens. It's only $5.79 and makes a huge difference.

It does not matter which one you use as long as it's oil free. You can just hop in the shower to use it and apply moisturizer after to prep your skin. Enjoy your even tan! Love your tan in a can!

Suncreen Causes Cancer?!

Happy Monday! The Jersey shore was beautiful this weekend. As I was lying out skimming some magazines, I found a very important tip of the day... Some of the chemicals commonly found in sunscreen cause cancer. This blog therefore will be devoted to recommending some safe sunscreens that will protect your skin now with out damaging it in the long term.

Tip of the Day: First of all, sunscreen no longer works after it is three years overdue. So toss all those old bottles (you can check expiration dates), because they are no longer protecting your skin. Second, you need to look out for the common additives of retinyl palmitate and oxybenzone because they have been shown to cause cancer!! The new thing that you want in your sunscreen is ferulic acid or soybean based sunscreen because it protects you from UVB (blocked by SPF) AND UVA rays (which SPF doesn't cover). If you want to look up your own safe sunscreens click on this site to see the breakdown of ingredients and risks.

Otherwise, try SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic for a great sun protector for your face. Burt's Bees has a great SPF 30 for your body that uses natural ingredients rather than common harmful chemicals.

As I said before, it's better to use a fake tanner and keep your skin protected than to permanently damage it. You will thank yourself later for investing in good sunscreen and throwing out the old bottles that are actually damaging your skin every time that you apply. Buying a hat and umbrella also are great ideas to keep you comfortable and enjoying the beach. Let's not fry ourselves when we can get a beautiful glow from tan in a can and keep our skin young and fresh.

Have a great week!

Gross Pimples!

TGIF! We've made it through the week. The unbearable heat has broken and we are in for a beautiful weekend (ignoring a little rain). So the Gaga tour, I heard was amazing. Jealous!

Before...
Tip of the Day: So I woke up yesterday with this huge gross red spot right below my mouth. Acne is always annoying, but it's worse when you are supposed to have passed that stage of your life. I always apply a slight amount of product at night to dry out my pimples. The problem is that I dry out my face in the process.

Yesterday, I woke up with a dried up face and still had a pimple. After using a gentle cleaner and applying a lot of moisturizer, I decided to give this new Prodigal Pen a try. I figured that if it was featured in Women's Magazine and recommended by BFF experts, I might as well see if it works. I put on even more moisturizer, and rolled a little bit on last night.

Today was a great day! I woke up it was Friday, the sky was blue, my pimple was gone and my face was not dried out. I absolutely recommend this product! I had no idea that it would actually work. Have a great weekend. Look forward to a True Blood Recap on Monday. ;)

Lip Saver!

Glass Ultra Light Lip Gloss, which I have nicknamed Glassy, will always have a place in my heart after all that we've been through together. This blog is for all of the random times she has gotten me out of sticky situations. Thanks bffbeautyshop.com!
Before...
Story number 1: The first time the lip gloss came in handy was the day Glassy came into my life. I had luckily thrown it into my purse after it came in the mail. I was so excited to see Twilight that day that I had forgotten to put on gloss. My lips are super dry so they hurt if I don't put anything on.

At the movie, my boyfriend grabbed popcorn (he thinks he hates lip gloss). I snuck out my ultra light gloss and took advantage of the built-in mirror and light. When he returned with the snacks, he didn't know what I had changed, but he said that I looked great. He even ended up enjoying Twilight. What a guy. :)
Story Number 2: I wake up super early to run before it gets hot outside. I'm always tired getting ready for work afterwords and put on the bare minimum make-up wise. This particular morning, like every other one, I put on some mascara and chap stick and left for work.
What I realized twenty-minutes into the drive was that I had a business meeting. I applied the Glassy quickly before the light changed and was on my way. While walking into the office, I pulled the Ultra light lip gloss and checked myself in the mirror. I had a glob of lip gloss on my teeth!
Gross. Luckily, I had used Glassy to check myself and get fixed up, before the meeting. The Ultra Light lip gloss really has my back. I'll keep you update on our times together!
After!

Sun Kissed Face

Congratulations! You've made it half way through the week. If you're in the New York/ New Jersey area, you can look forward to a storm that will break up the heat tomorrow. If you haven't seen "Twilight" already, I won't ruin it but I saw it yesterday and LOVED it! It is by far the best one yet. Without giving anything away, Bella has to make some tough decisions in this movie which will make the next one exciting. But without any further delay, here is my next beauty trick!

Before.....

Tip of the Day: Do not damage your face skin by tanning it! Like so many adults that I know, you will get wrinkles much earlier than you expect it and quickly regret your decisions. Instead, put on at least SPF 15 every morning.

To get that gorgeous glow, you can use your tanning spray on your face. What I do is spray a little tan in a can by Model Co www.bffbeautyshop.com
onto my hand. I then evenly spread a the spray onto my face to match my body tan. Afterwords, I use either soap or a tan removing gel to take any excess off of my hands.

After!

Welcome to your new BFF

Hello Gorgeous! I am here to help the world see how BEAUTIFUL you truly are. Sometimes it just takes a couple of makeup tips to get others to open their eyes and actually see you. That's where I come in! I am here to give and exchange the best kept makeup secrets so that you can enjoy your beauty.

Tip of the Day:
Check out tan in a can by Model Co at www.bffbeautyshop.com This site brings you my favorite tanning spray for buy one get one free. Here's how you use it: Go outside or into a wide space so you do not get spray on the walls. Make sure you position the can about an arms length so that it spreads evenly. Spray a little at a time until you attain the desired color. If there are any uneven spots do not be alarmed. Merely use your hands to rub in the spray until it looks even all around. Once you are done, use a scrub or soap to remove any excess you have on your hands. Enjoy your sun kissed beauty without any worries about wrinkles or skin cancer.
